What Easter holidays are all about....

How you know you experienced the 1990's...

  • You owned a compilation tape with top tunes such as "Mr.Vain", "What is
love" and "Rhythm is a dancer" on it!
  • You judged a girl on who she fancied from Take That! (Robbie: you were
cool. Gary Barlow: you were not!)
  • You wore plastic dummies around your neck, the bigger and more luminous the better!
  • You went away and returned with a hair wrap!
  • You remember when Blur were better than Oasis.
  • You bought Smash hits for the song lyrics and the immense amount of
stickers that you would stick everywhere!
  • Push 'n' pop lollies were so conventional, you could save them for
    later!
  • You made a key ring or ornament out of prima or fimo!
  • Do the Bartman, I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, cant prove
    anything!
  • Bold and the Beautiful and Sunset Beach when you were off sick from school!
  • You had at least one troll! (unless you were my sister then you had 100..with names AND birthdays)
  • You believed zack from saved by the bell died in a car crash (he didn't.. just went into porn)
  • You owned a Mood ring!!
  • You watched Byker Grove
  • You went into the Body shop to put on vanilla or dewbury perfume!
  • Count duckula, Trap door, Duck Tales and The Cities of Gold!
  • Ear cuffs ???!!!
  • You once used Wella Plum mousse or Sun-in in your hair that you thought was totally original and highly stylish.
  • Platform trainers ??

Oh nostaligia. Does this mean we're getting old?
  • Man of the Month

Girls...(or boys)..this is Dan and he is Fairie Random Thoughts' Man of the Month. He is my newest friend and it's his 18th birthday in 19 days. He is very funny, he can sing and dance and he always smells very nice. He's a bit special but it's ok as long as you speak slowly and explain big words in "Dan language". He even rides a scooter! You can email him by clicking here.

    Newflash: Fairie left speechless...

Last night me and Jedi and our new and special "Jesus Christ Superstar" friends went to see "The Passion of the Christ". It is important to realise that in doing so we were clearly having a "biblical moment" and as such only referred to eachother in character names. I'm sure our Jedi would have worn his crown of thorns if they'd given it to him yet... Anyway the film. Oh. My. God. Literally.
I havent had one of my "this is why i studied theology" moments for a long time now but i had a big one last night. Yes, i left the cinema wondering if i believe in God... I'm over it now but i did wonder fleetingly. Yes it was violent, Yes i looked away in parts and Yes i'm sure it was very much, as the Pope himself said..."as it was". I don't think it was anti semetic, and i don't think it should be banned. So what do i think? I honestly don't know. Do i want it to be true? Yes.. I think i do. And i think that scares me...

Begs the question though... Just how far can 8 pints of blood actually go?

Do girls not want to be pop stars anymore?

I don't get it. Where have all the girls gone in pop? I was a bit gutted about Atomic Kitten splitting up. Me and Pheebs went to the concert and they were wonderful, even if Tash did look like a 12 year year old boy with breast implants. The Sugababes are so bitchy and apparently Girls Aloud are on their last legs. I know we still have Britney, but Toxic was just luck really. Mcmanus didnt even manage a one hit wonder and Kylie is going to get married and have babies. Madonna has sold her soul to the devil and most pop princesses these days only seem to manage one single then vanish! (I mean...what can Rachel Steven's possibly be doing with herself at the moment???) Don't even start me on Beeeyoonceee.. woh! woooo! wooo! Can anybody actually name any of her other singles...?

I think my time is drawing near....

Can I hear the flutter of fairie wings?
It's been a while aint it? I'm pondering giving my little online world a face lift to celebrate my return...ho hum.
So whats been going on in Fairie World? (what a theme park that would be!)

  • Jesus Christ Superstar Well. It only seems like two posts ago we'd auditioned and now next week its the big day or 3. I sort of know what I'm doing, but the whole singing and dancing lark is a bit distressing. Jedi wants a fake tan but i'm not sure how it'll mix with the "blood" and I'm just dying to get him on the cross....(muuummrrrah). Tickets are still available(contrary to what my Dad says... aye aye) and you can book by calling 01922 653183 We (the cast la di da) are off to see The Passion of the Christ tonight. So we'll have Jesus, Herod, Simon, lame man and Pilates Wife (among other things) sitting in the cinema...if only we had our costumes. What is also extremely exciting is that when someone on the cast did a google search about the show "Fairie Random Thoughts" came up tops!! woo hoo....

  • Karaoke Everywhere is doing Karaoke competitons at the moment. So far only Jedi has managed to win a heat of the Yates' 2004 "wannabe" competiton (singing a fantastic rendition of Robbie Willi- I mean Derek Duvall's Hot Fudge...listen to the music). OOOh competitons vex me, I never know what to sing! Norah isn't "commercial enough", Shakira is too "obscure" and celine.. well... 'nuf said. Me, Jedi and King of Pop are all in a final on bank holiday monday so fingers crossed! Its at a casino in Dudley where excitingly enough there is an easter bonnet parade next friday!

  • My new niece or nephew My sister is not far off giving birth for the fourth time and we need a name for the bambino. This name can be no name you have ever heard before. We need inspiration cos at the moment Glamour and Blaize are the favourites. Please... it's your duty.

  • My new *diva* status Jedi and King of Pop have taken to calling me Diva, which i actually quite like. But shhh! don't tell them cos they might stop it...

  • My flat We are now in the 8th week of flat watch and i still don't have my keys. My consistent surveilance however has reliably informed me that the walls of my living room appear to be a lovely shade of AQUA. Thank God it's easter and daddy will paint it for me.

Those are the basics... more to come.

    Jesus Christ...
Well. We went, we sung and we even bloody danced and the Jedi and me (and pheebs) pulled it off. On the 15th, 16th and 17th of April you can come and see us both in Jesus Christ Superstar at Walsall Town Hall. We're not sure how but our Jedi managed to pull off getting the title role of Jesus, Son of God. Me? I shall be parading it as a Soul Girl. How really very exiting. Thats one of my "must do before 40" ambitions out of the way... Bring on the lapdancing lessons...

You can book tickets (£7.50 adults £5.50 concessions) by calling 01922 653183.

Oh golly...it's all gone a bit wrong...
Village photo's dot com have now decided that they want to charge me to link to my pictures, hence "fairie random thoughts" looking somewhat pictureless at the moment...what a stress. Does anyone know of another site i can use? Its enough to turn my fairie hair a whiter shade of pale....

    She's so Lucky...
Oh Britney. What were you thinking? They sure don't make them too purty in Texas do they? Golly, I don't blame you for not consumating your "marriage" and lucky for you that you didn't. I know he's your "Childhood Friend" but had i have been him I'd have claimed my conjugal rights and then took you for half your purty fortune...But then again...It's Britney. Of course I would...sigh. Dunno about his Gran though....eew.

    Oops....I did it again.
Ok it's official. I am a crap Fairie, but it is indeed my new years resolution, amongst other things, to dedicate myself to the entertainment of the general public. I shall achieve this in several ways.
  • Through this website. I know how entertaining you must all find it...(ahem!)

  • I intend to win Pop Idol 3. Not sure how... but if that bloody Michelle can then I'm sure i must stand a half way decent chance...and i have GENUINELY lost three stone since the start of Pop Idol 2!

  • Me and Pheeb's have an audition on Sunday to be in Jesus Christ Superstar. Obviously, diva that I am, I want to be Mary. 'Nuff said. I might even pretend to believe in God for the day...and I don't do that to teach RE!

  • I'm going to move out. This will affect "entertainment" in two ways. Firstly, I'll have fabulous house parties dahhlings where we can play Steps:The board game. Secondly, All you people i drive everywhere can bloody think again!(hint hint). So many places will suddenly become "out of my way". Wherever i goddamn live.

  • So. Im excited....are you?
